Introduction
Amari Henton is a developing point guard continuing to expand his game at Hutto High School in Hutto, Texas. Standing at 5'8" as part of the Class of 2029, Henton has continued to dedicate himself to improving every aspect of his game. His work ethic, leadership, and ability to see the floor have positioned him for continued growth as he pursues his dream of playing basketball at the highest level.

Background
Henton's basketball journey began in fifth grade, and from the first time he picked up a basketball, he knew it was the sport he wanted to pursue. Growing up in Hutto, Texas, he developed a passion for the game through countless hours of practice and competition. This past season, he played an important role in helping Hutto High School capture a district championship, gaining valuable experience while competing against talented opponents and continuing to grow as a floor general.
Development
During the season, Henton's training routine involves running, weightlifting, and advanced ball-handling and shooting drills, and he maintains that routine in the offseason. His commitment to improvement has allowed him to steadily elevate his game while preparing himself for tougher competition. One of the biggest challenges he has faced has been competing against players who are bigger, stronger, and faster. Henton has used that experience to learn how to process the game more quickly, make smarter decisions, and rely on his basketball IQ to create advantages on the court.
Influences
The biggest influence throughout Henton's basketball journey has been his father, who has supported him every step of the way. Whether it is offering encouragement or helping him work on different aspects of his game, his father has played an important role in his development both as a player and as a person. Currently, Henton is focused on improving his shooting. He believes his greatest strength is his court vision and takes pride in creating opportunities for his teammates while making the right play.
Goals
Looking ahead, Henton hopes to play college basketball at a Division I school. Currently, his dream school is the University of Florida. Over the next year, his goals are to become stronger, faster, and develop the athleticism to consistently play above the rim. Long-term, Henton wants to play basketball professionally in the NBA.
Closing
In April, Henton attended the High School All-American Showcase in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed competing against talented players from across the region and testing his skills in front of college coaches. The experience gave him another opportunity to learn and further develop his game. Most importantly, he hopes the coaches and scouts in attendance noticed his court vision, scoring ability, and hustle. As Amari Henton continues to grow physically and refine his skill set, he remains committed to becoming the complete point guard he knows he can be.
