Background
Originally from Harlem, New York, Glover moved to Miami, Florida when he was in eighth grade. He didn't start playing basketball until sixth grade, which presented early challenges as he worked to develop his fundamentals and basketball IQ. Despite that, he embraced the process and focused on enjoying the game. By seventh and eighth grade, Glover began taking basketball more seriously, training consistently and competing on both his middle school and AAU teams. His development led him to Westland Senior High School in Hialeah, Florida, where he connected with one of his biggest mentors, Shaka Osborne, who has played a key role in his early growth.
Development
Glover’s work ethic has been a driving force in his improvement. After a challenging freshman season, he used that as motivation to get better and do whatever it takes to help his team win. His in-season routine includes stretching, running laps, weightlifting, and structured practices focused on learning plays and improving execution. In the offseason, he continues to work hard by running, working on ball-handling, shooting, defense, and holding himself accountable by making 10 free throws before he can leave the gym. That success translated directly into success during his sophomore season, as he helped lead Miami Senior High School's JV team to a 14–2 record, averaging 10 points, 5 assists, 3–4 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game.
Influences
Glover has had many strong mentors who have helped shape his development, one of them being Shaka Osborne, his former JV basketball coach at Westland Senior High School. Osborne has remained a key influence, supporting him through his transition between schools and helping him grow as a player. Another significant influence for Glover has been his trainer, Deslyn Applewhaite, a professional basketball player. She has provided valuable insight into what it takes to reach the next level. Through her guidance, Glover has learned how to approach training with purpose and focus on the areas needed to compete at a high level.
Goals
Looking ahead, Glover has clear goals for both his short-term and long-term future. Next year, as a junior, he wants to make the varsity basketball team, while continuing to be a great teammate, and begin gaining attention from college coaches. Also, he wants to improve his ball handling and shooting while continuing to build on his biggest strength — his ability to pass the ball and create opportunities for teammates. Once his high school career is over, Glover wants to play college basketball. Some schools he is interested in include USC, Duke, Kentucky, and Villanova particularly because of their strong coaching staffs and accountability-driven cultures.
Closing
Earlier this year, Glover participated in the High School All-American Showcase in Miami,Florida, his first experience at an event of that level. Despite playing with unfamiliar teammates, he quickly adapted and gained valuable insight into what coaches look for in players. Aside from the games, Glover also did drills during the showcase that focused on shooting and dribbling. He mentioned a unique 3-on-3 drill where there was no dribbling and you could only pass to score; he said it helped him learn how to play without the ball. More importantly, he made it a priority to maintain a positive and consistent attitude, whether his team was winning or losing.
