Introduction
Damarion Taylor is a versatile guard who is steadily making a name for himself at Peoria High School in Peoria, Illinois. Standing at 6'1" as part of the Class of 2028, Taylor brings a strong blend of playmaking and finishing to the court. As he continues to grow into his role, he is focused on expanding his impact on both ends of the floor.

Background
Hailing from Peoria, Illinois, Taylor started playing basketball at the age of 7. As he became more comfortable playing with others, he quickly fell in love with the game. Since then, basketball has been a major part of his life, pushing him to continue improving and competing at a high level.
Development
This past season, Taylor split time between junior varsity and varsity. He was a starter on JV while coming off the bench for varsity, and he played a key role in helping his team reach the playoffs. While he did not see much playing time on varsity, he used that as motivation to work harder and keep improving his game. During the season, his training routine includes lifting, stretching, and skill work focused on dribbling, shooting, and finishing. In the offseason, Taylor does a lot of shooting workouts to continue improving his jump shot.
Influences
Taylor credits his trainer, Orlando Edwards, as his biggest influence. Having worked with him since he was 7 years old, Edwards has played a major role in shaping his game—helping him develop his ball-handling, shooting, finishing, and overall toughness. That long-term mentorship has been key in his progression as a player.
Goals
Looking ahead, Taylor is focused on continuing to elevate his game. He aims to improve his shooting consistency, both from mid-range and three-point range, while building on his strengths of finishing and playmaking. Over the next year, his goals are to reach the 1,000 point milestone, earn All-State honors, and become a varsity starter. Long-term, he hopes to play Division I college basketball, with schools like Purdue, Arizona, Duke, and Kansas standing out to him, before ultimately pursuing a professional career in the NBA.
Closing
In March, Taylor attended the High School All-American Showcase in Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed the experience and the high-level competition. He quickly learned about his teammates' tendencies and developed chemistry with them. For coaches and scouts in attendance, he hopes they noticed that he is an all-around player who can do whatever his team needs to win. With a strong work ethic, the ability to impact the game in multiple ways, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement, Damarion Taylor is building a bright future for himself in basketball.
