Background

Moore's basketball journey began in sixth grade after watching his older brother play the game. Growing up in College Station, Texas, he quickly developed a passion for basketball and has been committed to improving ever since. This past season, he started on junior varsity and enjoyed a productive year while helping his team compete throughout the season. However, Moore believes there is still a lot he can improve on and is using this experience as a building block going forward.

Development

During the season, Moore practices with his high school team every day after school while also competing for his AAU team, where he practices twice a week. In the offseason, he focuses on weightlifting, getting additional shots up in the gym, and refining his ball-handling skills. One of the biggest challenges Moore has faced has been his height. Rather than allowing it to become an obstacle, Moore has embraced it as motivation to outwork and outcompete every player he faces. That mindset has helped shape his aggressive style of play and fuels his determination to continue improving.

Influences

One of the biggest influences throughout Moore's basketball journey has been his current high school coach, Andrew Daily. Coach Daily has played an important role in keeping him focused on the areas of his game that need the most attention while encouraging him to continue developing both during the season and throughout the offseason. Currently, Moore is working to strengthen his ball-handling with his right hand to make it as dominant as his left hand. He believes his biggest strength on the court is his defense. His height allows him to move quickly and play with intensity on the defensive end.

Goals

Looking ahead, Moore wants to play college basketball. His dream is to play at a Division I school, but he is open to any opportunity available to him to compete at the next level. His top school is LSU, a program he has followed closely since he was a kid and admires the culture of. Over the next year, Moore's goals are to earn a spot on the varsity team and begin receiving official college offers. Long-term, he hopes to play basketball professionally at whatever level he can. Moore also enjoys studying the games of NBA stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, whose leadership, creativity, and skill continue to inspire his own development.

Closing

In April, Moore attended the High School All-American Showcase in Houston, Texas. He said it was a great experience and appreciated the level of competition. While it took some time to adjust to playing alongside new teammates, he quickly became more comfortable with them as the games progressed. Most importantly, he hopes the college coaches and scouts in attendance noticed his defensive intensity, playmaking ability, and willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team succeed. As Jeremie Moore continues developing his game, his competitive spirit and commitment to improvement position him well for the opportunities that lie ahead.
