Background

Hailing from Grandview, Missouri, Jennings started playing basketball at the AAU level in third grade. Growing up, he spent a lot of time watching NBA basketball and other levels of the game, which helped him fall in love with the sport and motivated him to pursue it seriously.

Development

This past season, Jennings came off the bench for the junior varsity team and viewed the experience as an opportunity to grow and improve for the future. During the season, his training routine involves weight training on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the other days focused on skill development and conditioning. Now in the offseason, Jennings is focused on becoming stronger and continuing to elevate every aspect of his game. One challenge he mentioned was adjusting to the physicality of basketball at the high school level, something that pushed him to work harder and become a more complete player.

Influences

Jennings credits his AAU coach, Sean Bledsoe, as his biggest influence. Coach Bledsoe emphasized game situations during practice and had the team study film to identify areas they could improve. That attention to detail helped Jennings better understand the game and continue developing his basketball IQ.

Goals

On the court, Jennings wants to improve his ability to get to his spots, his playmaking, and his decision-making. He believes his biggest strength right now is his ability to attack the rim. After high school, Jennings hopes to play college basketball and is open to any opportunity that comes his way. Currently, schools like Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and Illinois stand out to him. Over the next year, his goals are to continue evolving his game and gain more exposure from college coaches. Long-term, he hopes to play professionally in the NBA or overseas, while also remaining open to a future career in basketball through coaching if playing professionally does not work out.

Closing

In April, Jennings attended the High School All-American Showcase in Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed the experience and learned several new moves he can use at the high school level. He adapted quickly to new teammates and worked well with them throughout the event. For coaches and scouts in attendance, he hopes they noticed that he is a coachable player and will do whatever it takes for his team to win. With a strong work ethic, a coachable mindset, and a desire to keep improving, Langston Jennings is continuing to move in the right direction. As he gains more experience and develops physically, he is a young prospect with plenty of potential in the Class of 2030.
