Introduction
Sareal Blue is a driven young point guard continuing to develop his game at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Standing at 5'10" as part of the Class of 2028, Blue brings energy, discipline, and determination to the court every day. Known for his defensive intensity and strong work ethic, he has committed himself to helping his team grow while steadily improving his own game.

Background
Blue started playing basketball when he was 8 years old. He was introduced to the game by his mother, whom he says has played a pivotal role in shaping who he is today as an athlete and as a person. She has always emphasized the importance of hard work, discipline, and balancing academics with athletics. Her sacrifices have allowed him to pursue training opportunities and competitive experiences that continue to push his development forward.
Development
Blue approaches the game with a mindset centered on improvement. During his sophomore season, he committed himself to giving everything he had to help build his team and contribute to their future success, and his training routine certainly reflects that. During the season, he started each day by doing 100 push-ups, followed by team practice after school. Even when practice ended, he would stay after to put up 100 additional shots. In the offseason, his work ethic stays just as strong, with hour-and-a-half weightlifting sessions and hundreds of extra shots each week. In addition to basketball, Blue also plays football and runs track, which helps him develop his speed, strength, and overall athleticism.
Influences
Blue credits much of his growth to the guidance of mentors who have invested in his development, one of them being his high school coach, Anthony Parks. Coach Parks has provided consistent support and encouragement while helping him sharpen his game. Another one of his biggest influences has been his trainer, Edward Cook, who has been working with him since he was 10 years old. Through Cooks' training, Blue has strengthened his fundamentals, improved his understanding of the game, and developed the discipline necessary to continue progressing as a player.
Goals
Looking toward the future, Blue has clear goals for himself; he hopes to play college basketball and eventually play professionally, whether in the NBA or overseas. Right now, his top school of choice is NC State, though he remains open to any opportunity that allows him to grow and compete at the next level. Blue says that his biggest strength on the court right now is his defense, while he continues working to improve his ball-handling and overall offensive skill set. Another personal goal he has is to be able to dunk by the time he is a junior next year.
Closing
This past February, Blue competed at the High School All-American Showcase in Columbia, South Carolina. During the showcase, he gained valuable experience through drills focused on footwork and defense while also playing competitive games against other talented athletes. The event helped him improve his teamwork and communication while reinforcing his reputation as a player who gives 100 percent effort on every possession. Off the court, Blue remains just as focused on academics as he does athletics. He currently maintains a 4.0 GPA and recognizes that success in the classroom is just as important as success on the court. With his work ethic, discipline, and commitment to growth, Sareal Blue continues to build a strong foundation for the future.
